Very efficient coffee press. I find I use much less coffee grinds than I did with a conventional French Press/Bodum or percolator or drip arrangement. Beware there is a bit of learning curve in using it, which requires a bit of muscle., but it is well worth it. Order the large pack of paper filters with it. Piece of cake to clean. I recommend you keep it out of the dishwasher, high heat can't be good for the rubber fitting on the end of the plunger. Also, be aware that it makes a Demi-tasse of coffee, not a full to the brim cup of coffee, BUT it taste great!

I've had it for about 3 months now & it makes great tasting coffee consistently.

Costs:
In terms of cost, it is more affordable when comparing it to Keurig because k-cups are expensive regardless of the flavours you choose. With Aeropress, you need coffee and filters, both of which you can find for an affordable price. You can buy the filters for like $13 on Amazon and that will last you almost a year even if you have a cup every day. However, I am still working through the filters that came with the Aeropress. Basically, you can easily manage the cost because there are options from affordable to expensive grounded coffee and how much it costs depends on your tastes. I personally like to buy expensive beans and grind the coffee myself because I am a coffee snob. Even when buying the Aeropress with a coffee grinder, the initial costs are more economical than a Keurig.

Space:
I have a smaller place in a large city, so counter space is really important. The keurig takes up a lot of space while the Aeropress can fit in a small space in my cabinet. There are little organizers you can buy on Amazon though if you prefer that.

Time:
I think my entire process takes less than 5 minutes. Most of the time is waiting for the kettle to boil water. The actual press takes less than a minute. Cleaning it is basically rinsing the stir stick and the press component with boiling water which takes a minute all together. In comparison to the Keurig, it's not a one button thing, but like anything good and tasty-- the time is worth the wait.

Maintenance:
I clean by rinsing the stir stick and press with boiling water after every use and it takes a few seconds. Unlike the Keurig, this is basically maintenance free! I used to clean my Keurig often and then toward the end I realized there was mold at the bottom of the water filter, which you're supposed to change at least every 3 months. I found this process difficult because the filter at the bottom was wet, which causes it to expand and makes it difficult to remove. I was fighting it every time. This aeropress is so much easier to maintain.

Portability:
You can easily pack this in a suitcase and it takes up very little space. I have never thought of bringing a coffee machine on vacation anywhere but trust me - once you find a machine that can make coffee this good, you don't want to mess around. Life is too short for bad coffee.

Please note:
One thing I will say is that if you have hand issues like arthritis, this may not be for you because the press can be strenuous and cause pain for people who do not have full strength and function.

Overall, I highly recommend this 10/10. I finally have better coffee than my Italian parents! Do yourself a favour and get this device. It will make you happier and nicer in the morning lol.

As a barista in an upscale coffee shop years ago the staff and customers always raved about AeroPress, but I never had a real use for a single-cup coffee contraption at home so I never bothered. Recently I thought I'd up my coffee game at the office and finally bought one. As the title says, the hype is real for sure. This is a genius contraption that combines pour over with French press with pressure-driven espresso extraction (i.e. those fancy, expensive machines). It is very easy to modify preparation to taste as well and the clean up is heavenly simple, just press the used puck into the trash (or compost), rinse the equipment, and that's that. I did not rate this as perfect because I personally believe its full price is a bit high for what it is, at the end of the day, and I bought it on sale (why wouldn't you?). I'll never go back to a regular pour over for a single cup again.
